Lynn Terhar, Advisor Finance Committee

Lynn is a founding member of the board of directors and Treasurer for Angel Fund Virginia.  She has been a board member and officer of the PTA/PTSA boards of Stone Middle School and Chantilly High School and was the first president of the PTSA at Westfield High School in Fairfax County, Virginia when it opened.

She has served in several positions including president of the Fairfax County Council of PTAs and was a member of the Virginia State PTA Board of Managers.  For several years at the county and state levels of PTA, she conducted training for treasurers helping them comply with non-profit financial requirements and emphasizing the responsibilities of good stewardship of PTA funds. While on the state PTA board, she served as the PTA representative to the Virginia High School League Executive Committee. Lynn was named Lady Fairfax, Sully District for her work during the opening years of Westfield High School.  She received the PTA President’s Award for her volunteer work on the local, county and state level of PTA.

Lynn earned a BS in Business Administration from Miami University, Ohio and worked as a computer systems analyst in Cincinnati and Dayton, OH for 6 years.  After moving to Virginia she was an Fairfax County Public Schools administrative assistant at Chantilly High School and Chantilly Academy for 10 years and as the Finance Tech at Chantilly Academy for four years leading up to her retirement from FCPS.

Lynn is currently employed part-time as a Finance Tech for Fairfax County Public Schools and as a senior tax preparer and tax class instructor for Liberty Tax Service.

Lynn and her husband, John, have been married for 36 years and have been residents of Fairfax County for 25 years.  They have three sons who graduated from FCPS schools, and three grandchildren.  Her hobbies include gardening, needlepoint and spoiling the grandchildren.
