Corey Day worked hard at Mountain View. Corey’s kind and gentle demeanor have endeared him to the faculty and fellow students here. He came to Mountain View to find a new way of learning. Here he could work at his own pace, redo assignments, and stay on a concept until he finally understood it. In one of his scholarship recommendations, a teacher wrote, “Corey’s strengths lie in his self-awareness about his thinking and learning as well as about his demeanor…Corey is disciplined, both in the classroom and out, which complemented by his willingness to attack things that are challenging will help him be successful in whatever he chooses to do after graduation.” Instead of wondering if he would finish high school, Corey is graduating early; and he has earned a scholarship to help him meet his goal of becoming an engineer. The VFW Post 5412 is pleased to present Corey with this scholarship in honor of all veterans of the US Armed Forces, including both of Corey’s parents.
