Gabby Crespo has learned much about hard work and preparation here at Mountain View. In her scholarship essay she said her experiences at Mountain View have well-prepared her for her academic future. Gabby has also learned much about herself. Her teachers and counselor describe her as diligent, resilient, and mature. Hearing encouraging words from her teachers motivated Gabby to push herself even more. Gabby ‘s journey has had many ups and downs, but Ms. Hoffman, Gabby’s math teacher, knows that Gabby can accomplish whatever she chooses and that Gabby will be successful in her future endeavors. Congratulations Gabby Crespo!
The 2014 Troy Scholarship is awarded to OLGA PEREZ SOTO. Olga joined the Mountain View family last fall, after moving to the area from Texas. She immediately began pursuing a June graduation and it comes as no surprise to those who know her that she met that goal and is now preparing for the next leg of her journey. Olga’s teachers and counselor all describe her as caring, hard-working, and responsible. She is a loyal friend and a generous classmate, modeling good learning strategies and offering to help others. She understood quickly that she was able to master material through focused persistence. And despite being tired from late nights at her job, she managed to maintain good attendance and engagement during classes. Although she tries very hard to hide it, it has also become apparent that she has an amazing personality and quite the sense of humor.
Mountain View will certainly miss her, but we look forward to hearing about the successes that her determination and spark are sure to bring her in the future.
