Anne Grabowski, Director

Anne Grabowski

Anne was introduced to Mountain View High School through her work with Optimist International, a wordwide volunteer organization, and its programs to support youth and scholarship in the communities it serves.

Anne’s late husband, Colonel Norbert Grabowski, was founding member and charter president of the Central Fairfax Chapter.  Anne has also been a longtime member and has served as President, Vice President, Youth Activities Chairperson, and secretary/treasurer.

She is currently the Lieutenant Governor for Zone 4 (northern Virginia area) for the Capital Virginia District of Optimist International and continues to serve as Youth Activities Chairperson for the Central Fairfax Optimist Club.  The Central Fairfax Club and the Grabowski family sponsor the Norbert D. Grabowski Good Citizen Scholarship, which is awarded each year to a deserving student at Mountain View High School.

Anne spent 18 years working in the Fairfax County Public School system at the Area IV office, Robinson Secondary School and various locations throughout the county.

Anne first came to Washington after graduating from Alfred State Technical Institute where she was recruited to work for the U. S. Government. She was subsequently transferred to Frankfurt, Germany with the US State Department, where she met her husband.  Throughout Norbert’s military career, Anne remained an active volunteer in many charitable and service organizations, such as military wives clubs, PTAs, and the American Red Cross.
